Day Six

~ progression of little man's skills

~ sunlight that makes the snow sparkle

~ a good cleansing cry

~ rest

~ mercy


But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Day Five

~ a friend just checking in to see if I needed anything

~ leftovers and soda

~ little birds flittering off and on the bare branches of the tree outside my window

~ my eldest who likes to "fill in" for me when I am not feeling well

~ security

Day Four

~ an extra  hour of sleep

~ greeted by the Lord's warm smile through a gorgeous sunrise

~ the opportunity to grow in fellowship with other believers

~ the sensitivity of my son

~ Truth that shines through the darkness

Day Three


~ friendship that is there no matter what, through thick and thin

~ regrets that turned into the best thing

~ the imagination and passion of my four year old

~ soulful music that moves me

~ mercies that are new every morning... every moment... every second


But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him." The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Day Two

~ flannel sheets fresh from the laundry, the right weight of blankets, fluffy down comforter, pillows to rest my head

~ warm, flavorful soup to soothe the throat and nourish the body

~ first star out tonight settling in next to barely a sliver of moon as they nestle into the orange-pink horizon

~ a little shadow that doesn't want to ever leave my side

~ shelter

"From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for You have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of Your wings! Selah"

Day One

~ opportunities to refresh, recharge, rejuvenate even those given at inopportune times

~ baby breath

~ huge, fluffy snowflakes swirling down from the sky

~ desperately needed wisdom from above
